Quad Racing
This motorsport, also referred to as all-terrain vehicle racing, was invented in the US around 1970. This became a popular recreational and adventurous type of racing that can be done on different types of roads.
GNCC Racing and the Quad Cross Series are some of the top international competitions held for quad racing. I remember riding an ATV years ago. It is a very unique vehicle that is easy to handle, yet the speed can go really high! However, it was truly an exciting activity to try out!
Quidditch
Although this is a fictional sport, it was invented by the renowned author, J.K. Rowling, of the Harry Potter book series. This became a real-life sport in 2005, first played in a college in Vermont.
There are four positions in the game: chaser, keeper, beater, and seeker. The chaser is supposed to throw a quaffle—a deflated ball through a hoop—to score a win. The players also hold the broomsticks in between their legs while playing! This sport surely reminds me of the scene where Harry Porter plays the game of quidditch as a seeker for his team at Hogwarts!
Quadrathlon
This features four extreme sports: swimming, kayaking, cycling, and running.
There are annual quadrathlon competitions held in areas such as Germany, the United Kingdom, and the Czech Republic, including the popular World Quadrathlon Championship. These are definitely some of my favorite sports, and I would definitely recommend them to someone who loves a good challenge!
Queimada
This is a Brazilian-originated ball sport that is similar to the game of dodgeball. The objective of the game being to beat the opposing players by hitting them with the ball.
There are national tournaments held in Brazil for Queimada at different age levels. Dodgeball was one of the most frequently 2-player sports in my childhood. I can’t remember how many times I was eliminated by getting hit in the head by my friends and sisters!
Qigong
This is a unique sport that is also considered medicine. Yes, you heard that right!
Qigong is a Chinese martial art that involves certain movements, body posture, breathing, and meditation techniques. It was invented thousands of years ago with multiple health and mind benefits, qigong aims to improve the overall well-being of an individual. I don’t know about you but I will surely give this unique martial art a try!
