TV Shows to Binge Watch This Winter

As we get closer and closer to the winter season, the nights are becoming longer and when the sun goes down by 5 or 6pm, you need something to pass the hours before bedtime. And what could be better to pass the time than a hot espresso and catching up on some great TV shows.

There are a host of streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, HBO Now and BBC iPlayer. Even Apple has announced its TV show’s app named as Apple TV Plus, so there are hundreds of options making it difficult to choose one.

In the coming winter, there are new TV shows being released worldwide which are binge-watch worthy. Here are a few:

Doctor Who – Series 12

Recently, RadioTimes.com reported that a standalone episode is in the works and will hit screens during the festive period near to Christmas, and we all know what kind of epic show that is!

But the series 12 gang – Jodie Whittaker as the Doctor, Bradley Walsh as Graham, Mandip Gill as Yaz, and Tosin Cole as Ryan, will be back for a whole new chapter next year as well.

And previously, a press release appeared to confirm that series 13, 14 and 15 are also on the cards.

The Alienist – Season 2

Netflix’s The Alienist is returning for its 2nd season and will be based on The Angel of Darkness, the sequel to the original novel written by Caleb Carr.

It will follow on from season one, which was plotted as psychologist Laszlo Kreizler’s investigation into the ritual murders of children in New York. In the book, which takes place one year after The Alienist, Sara Howard who is now a private detective, seeks out Kreizler when the infant daughter of a visiting Spanish dignitary goes missing.

Brittany’s Pick: The Good Place

An amazing show available on Hulu; Brittany’s Pick: The Good Place is first and foremost a comedy, but it disguises a story that enquiries what it means to be a good person. It strikes the flawless balance between funny and thought-provoking, with great characters that you feel really devoted to. It’s a heartwarming show that we just can’t get enough of.

See

One of the two headlines for Apple TV Plus, this is the show that is plotted in such a way that you can’t imagine. Far in a dystopian future, the human race has lost the sense of sight, and society has had to find new ways to interact, hunt, build and to survive. All of that is changed when a set of twins is born with sight.

A tantalizing series written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2 director Francis Lawrence. The Aquaman; Jason Momoa will star with Alfre Woodard, so it’s probably worth an exploratory watch.

The Morning Show

Another star attraction for Apple TV Plus’s inauguration is this drama series packed with big names, which include Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell. The Morning Show follows the story of the lives of the people who help America wake up in the morning, exploring the unique challenges faced by the women and men both who carry out this daily on-screen ritual.

These are our top picks of TV shows you need to watch this winter. If you really want to make this winter memorable and cozy for you, then be prepared to save these shows in your list and have them ready to watch when you have time.
