Sony WH-CH510 Wireless Headphones Review

I recently purchased the Sony WH-CH510 wireless headphones and wanted to review them for you. Here are my thoughts:

Price

These headphones are around $50 USD unless you get them on sale and can be purchased from Best Buy, Walmart, Target or Amazon, making them readily available.

Design

Sony WH-CH510 wireless headphones

The Sony WH-CH510 have a pretty basic, simple design. They come in 3 colors: black, blue or white and the exterior is made of hard plastic, giving it a cheap look. They are on-ear headphones, rather than over-ear, meaning that the cups rest on your ears, and three buttons are included on the headphones: a power button and volume buttons. The cups of the earphones also swivel, making it easier for storage purposes. Overall nothing too special when it comes to the design.

Battery

Battery Type: Rechargeable
Battery Life: 35 hours
Charge Time: 4 hours
Charging Port: USB-C

The battery life on these headphones is great. They can last up to 35 hours on a single charge and have quick charging meaning that 10 minutes of charging can give you 90 minutes of use time, which is awesome.

Features

Sony WH-CH510 wireless headphones

1. Wireless Bluetooth Connection

Pair your smartphone or tablet with these headphones and enjoy your music without worrying about wires. You can even control the volume straight from the headphones.

2. Built-in Microphone

This allows you to make calls without using your phone, making it an easy way to have a hands-free conversation.

3. Voice Assist

This feature is only compatible with Google phones or iPhones. Press the multi-function button twice and get access to Siri or Google Assistant from the headphones. Great for getting news updates or answers to any quick questions you have.

Performance

The fact that these are on-ear headphones and not over ear, you don’t get a great level of noise cancellation that other headphones might provide. Despite that, they still have pretty good sound quality and are also audible in loud environments (I have tried them on the subway and could hear decently despite all the background noise).

When using the microphone in a loud environment though, you and the person you’re speaking to will hear the sounds around you.

One downside of the headphones is that the cups (since they are on-ear) are a bit small and can lead to irritation after a couple of hours. I noticed that when I used these for more than 2 hours continuously, my ears would start hurting as they were being pressed by the cups.

These are also not the best for bringing on long/far travel trips as they don’t fold, making them hard to pack and susceptible to damage if you were to bring them along.

Conclusion

To conclude this Sony WH-CH510 wireless headphones review, anyone who is looking for good quality, not too expensive, reliable headphones for home or travel, the Sony WH-CH510 will be perfect for them. They have decent audio quality and an extremely long battery life so you will only need to charge them once in a while. If you’re into amazing audio quality and noise cancellation type headphones then I suggest passing on these and checking out the following headphones below:
