The third step involves coating of chicken with the batter you have prepared in the first step. So, all you have to do is to take the pieces of chickens and then get them dipped it into the batter one after the another. Then, they are supposed to be placed in the flour mixture and get the chicken completely layered with it from all sides. This is how you can effectively get the chicken coated.

Repeat the same process several times

The fourth step is about repetition of the third step for complete coating of all the chicken pieces. So, you are required to repeat the above process several times until you cover all the chicken pieces required to be fried in the batter you have prepared. Make sure you are coating all the chicken pieces properly to ensure that you enjoy crispness in every bite.

Let’s fry!

Our fifth step is all about frying. Take a large skillet and heat the oil in it until it comes to a shimmering state (at a stage when it doesn’t leave any smoke) at the temperature around 350°F/175°C. Don’t get yourself hurt and use tongs to carefully lay the chicken pieces on their skin-side into the skillet and let them fry on a medium flame.

For best results, leave the pieces of chicken in skillet for not more than 25 to 30 minutes, turning them from time to time so that they won’t be burnt. To make it a bit spicier, bring in some chili peppers. Always add the chicken after confirming that the oil has been properly heated to the required temperature to avoid making your dish excessively greasy.

The process of degreasing

Our sixth step tells about a unique way to retain the crispness of the chicken while making it less oily. To do that, take the pieces out of the skillet and degrease the chicken with the help of kitchen cloth or paper towel. The less the grease, the more the crisp.

Now it’s the serving time!

Let’s talk about our seventh step. Well, it would not be wrong to say that our final step holds the key to all the deliciousness as it is when we can taste and enjoy our very own version of Kentucky-fried chicken. Get it served with your desired choice of sideliners such as gravy, coleslaw, fries or even mash potatoes.
