Finally…. A Smaller Notch

MacRumors shared an alleged photo of the front glass of the upcoming iPhone. It shows a smaller notch cut out on the screen. This could be possible because of the size reduction of the FaceID components on the front housing.

It is going to be the first time in the last four years since the notch screen design was launched by Apple in the iPhone X that the notch size is getting smaller. It is to be kept in mind that the notch on Apple iPhone’s screen has some really hi-tech equipment crammed in such a small space including an Infrared camera, Proximity sensor, Flood illuminator, Ambient light sensor, Microphone, Speaker, Dot projector, and Front camera.

120 Hz Display is Happening

Apple in collaboration with Samsung could release a 120 Hz refresh rate in the iPhone 13 models. It is going to be one of the most awaited developments among iPhone users. Samsung and other mobile phone brands have already introduced this technology in their OLED screens and made the displays super smooth.

It is worth mentioning here that according to the latest rumors, the 120 Hz refresh rate would only be introduced in the upcoming iPhone’s Pro and Pro Max models. The displays of the smaller iPhones might not get the 120 Hz refresh rate feature. However, they would still have the OLED screens as we have seen in the case of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini.

Bigger Camera Units

The iPhone 13 dummy shown at Unbox Therapy’s latest released video is a product made with high-quality materials to mimic the real phone that is due to be launched in the second half of 2021. The dummy that was unpacked in the video was compared with the original iPhone 12 pro max and the camera module on the upcoming iPhone appeared to be larger and chunkier.

The next-generation iPhone will reportedly feature a LiDAR sensor that will be larger in size. It will provide improved accuracy in terms of capturing photos, bringing more optimized usage of the AR technology. This setup is expected to make the cameras more battery efficient. We still don’t know anything clearly about the number of cameras for smaller models of the upcoming iPhone series.

Some sources are saying that all 4 models have the same number of cameras, bringing more camera features to the lower-end iPhones. Other news articles and videos having the leaks of the upcoming iPhone series are stating that there will be only two cameras instead of three on iPhone 13 and 13 mini models as we have seen in the previous two generations of iPhones.

Starting from the very first Mac PC that it released more than two decades ago to the latest iPhone models, Apple has always been experimenting with colors. We have already witnessed the launch of the latest iPhone 12 and 12 mini in purple color in the first quarter of 2021.

Now we have a large variety of colors to choose from if we are going for the iPhone 12 series. We have blue, green, red, white, black, and purple colors to pick from. Now, let’s see if Apple is going to replaces these colors with new ones as it usually does or is going to add more color options to the iPhone series.

Is it Going to Be an iPhone 12s Series or an iPhone 13 Series?

We are still not sure if we are going to get an iPhone 13 or the “s” version of the already existing iPhone 12 series. Apple has done it in the past with the 6s and Xs generation iPhones. Keeping in view all the latest iPhone leaks in 2021, it is going to be an exciting phone and even maybe the best iPhone series ever released by Apple.

Other Important iPhone 13 Leaks in 2021

The upcoming iPhone Pro and Pro Max models will have larger batteries, so they might be thicker in size. Larger batteries are to support 120 Hz refresh rate display and other high-end specs.

Specifications like charging port and network support are expected to be the same as the previous generation. iPhone 12 series were introduced with 5G support and the upcoming iPhone series will also have 5G support. However, the world has already started testing the 6G network, but it won’t be commercially released until 2030.
