6 WONDERFUL USA FESTIVALS THAT YOU WILL ENJOY

Go get your LED sunglasses and your dazzling backpacks, the scene of summer USA festivals is officially arrived. With the events taking place in each state, the American traveler is spoiled for choice. Here is my list of our favorite music festivals in unique destinations across the country.

Electric Forest

Rothbury, Michigan, June 27-30

Music concert at night in the middle of a forest

This psychedelic electronic music festival will bring out your inner fairy. Located in the heart of a Michigan forest resort, this event relies on greenery to amplify the overall visual effects of its shows. Let yourself be dazzled as the lights go up and down in the nearby trunks and your favorite DJ pumps up all-night energy sounds.

Lower Key Underwater Music Festival

Looe Key, Florida, July 6-7

Three people underwater wearing snorkeling equipment and playing instruments

As for the pure quirk factor, this music festival wins. Created to draw attention to the preservation of the region’s reefs, the underwater music festival is just that. Hundreds of boats are heading to the Lower Keys with submersible speakers in tow; participants wear snorkels and / or diving equipment, appropriate costumes and water-friendly, and then go under the waves to “play” music around them. Mermaids, pirates, they are all here and all know how to play “Yellow Submarine” underwater.

Under The Big Sky Music and Arts Festival

Whitefish, Montana, July 13-14

People gathered at a music festival held on a ranch

If you want a music festival AND a big space, this is the one to put on your calendar. This folk and American festival takes place at Big Mountain Ranch, just 30 minutes’ drive from one of North America’s most epic nature reserves, Glacier National Park. Even attending the festival can make your travel list the ultimate travel experience: Amtrak’s Empire Builder train arrives in Whitefish twice a day.

Burning Man

Black Rock City, Nevada, from August 25 to September 2

We know, we know, Burning Man is technically not a music festival, but rather a giant art installation and social experiment. But we felt that excluding it from this list of fascinating event destinations was simply wrong. The flat and dusty Playa (as the desert calls it) has become the iconic canvas of some of the thorniest art installations in the United States. Performers, fire dancers, musicians and visual artists are involved in the construction of the temporary Black Rock City. The experiment ends with the fire of a giant wooden effigy.

Moab Music Festival

Moab, Utah, August 26 to September 12

canyon

This event should occupy a place of choice for anyone with a deep knowledge of classical music and geology. Festival goers walk through the spectacular Arches National Park to listen to concerts held in the natural amphitheaters created by the impressive red rock formations of Moab. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to listen to Brahms on Mars, this is your chance.

Hulaween

Suwannee, Florida, October 26-28

Ready to become sinister? Head over to spend the Halloween weekend at this Suwannee Music Park-style festival among the alien-looking cypresses and the gnarled, living oaks that twist and turn into the night sky at the same time. way of a bouquet of treed spectrums. Large artistic installations dot the forest floor beneath the suspended Spanish moss, and with all this around you, you can not help but feel a little supernatural.
