2019 has already been an exciting year for everyone who enjoys movies. From the likes of Avengers: Endgame to John Wick: Parabellum, we’ve seen countless masterpieces that have blown box office records to pieces. However, the year is not over yet and there are still some exciting movies in all genres to look forward to. Here are a few of the most highly anticipated ones:
Joaquin Phoenix returns in the infamous role of the Joker. The character made immortal by the legendary Heath Ledger has been brought back to life, this time with a focus on his personal life. With Joker being one of the most notorious yet loved villains in cinema history, there is a lot to expect from this one. The movie also stars Robert De Niro and releases on October 4th.
Ramboo: Last Blood
Sylvester Stallone reprises his role as the Vietnam war veteran who is out to seek vengeance. Stallone and his last appearance as the daunting and ruthless mercenary has made us all jump up with enthusiasm at the prospect of a final appearance. If the trailer is anything to go by, the movie is going to live up to its expectations. It comes out on September 20th.
IT: Chapter 2
Pennywise, the clown will return to theaters this September after a successful appearance two years earlier. The movie is opening in theaters on September 6th and sees the Derry residents keep their promise of returning to the same town twenty-seven years later. Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy and Bill Hader take on the roles of the children who are now grown up and return to perform the Ritual of Chud. From all we know, it is going to be just as spooky as before.
Martin Scorsese is always pushing the boundaries of conventional cinema and his upcoming thriller promises to be no different. The movie uses digital de-aging technology to tell the story of mob-hitman Frank Sheeran. The character will be played by a now younger looking Robert De Niro while the eccentric Al Pacino takes on the role of Teamsters boss Jimmy Hoffa. The movie will release in theaters on November 1st and begin streaming on Netflix November 27th.
Ford v Ferrari
We’ve seen from the success of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood that if two great actors’ pair up and the execution is in capable hands, the movie become a treat to watch. For the automotive enthusiasts and the generation that was won over by Christian Bale’s Batman portrayal, Ford v Ferrari will be an epic blockbuster. The movie also stars Matt Damon and follows the origins of Ford in the racing era of the sixties, Le Mans to be specific. It is definitely one we can’t wait for.
This is by no means the end of it. There is something for all kinds of audiences coming out this year. Frozen II is set to release on November 22nd, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator: Dark Fate on November 1st and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker on December 20th. It is going to be an eventful year.
